Ta del av Dino Espositos session Principles and practices of designing a Web API
Today, web solutions are often made of dynamic HTML views whose sections are populated on the fly with data coming from a remote backend. The traits of this remote backend have been changing for years. First, it was SOAP-based web services, then WCF services, then simply a segment of an ASP.NET MVC application, and finally Web API. Which option is best for you? The answer is not obvious and depends on skills, legacy code and ultimate goals. In this session, Dino will review the various options with particular emphasis on Web API and its customizable aspects, OData and security features. Knowing how to design a Web API for a web application, regardless of the technology employed, is a must these days.
